Rivertide Boatworks owner Mike Marino has been building, restoring and repairing wooden boats for over 30 years.
Mike began his boatbuilding career as a teenager, taking classes with Sam Manning and Arno Day at the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, Maine.
He continued his formal training at the International Boatbuilding Training Centre in Lowestoft, England.
He then worked for boatbuilders on the east and west coasts of the United States. Mike also worked with Korchmar and Willner and Derecktor shipyards, among others.
Mike lived and worked in France for many years and built and restored wooden boats in the Brittany and Normandy regions. While living in Brittany, Mike was part of the team that built the historically accurate replica schooner, La Recouvrance in Brest, France.
He opened his own business in 1997 in New York (the original name was Marine Woodworks Plus) and now works in Mendocino and Humboldt Counties in California.
